Responsible Gambling

BetHoop is an analysis tool, not a sportsbook. We do not accept wagers or process bets. But because our service is used by people who place bets, we take responsible gambling seriously. If betting stops being fun or starts hurting your finances, relationships or well-being, stop and seek help.

How to bet safely

  • Set a strict budget for the month. Never gamble money you can't afford to lose.
  • Set a time limit per session. Walk away when it's reached.
  • Never chase losses. The next bet does not “owe” you a recovery.
  • Don't gamble under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Don't gamble when angry, depressed or stressed.
  • Keep gambling as one activity among many. It should not crowd out family, work or hobbies.

Warning signs

Consider stopping and reaching out for help if you notice any of the following:

  • You think about betting most of the day.
  • You bet more than you intended to, or more often than you intended to.
  • You hide your gambling from people close to you.
  • You borrow money — or take money from accounts not meant for betting — to keep going.
  • You feel restless or irritable when not betting.
  • Your finances, work or relationships are starting to suffer.

Self-exclusion

Most US sportsbooks offer self-exclusion programs that let you ban yourself from their platforms for a fixed period or for life. Many states also operate official self-exclusion registries. If you feel you can no longer control your gambling, enroll. It works.

About BetHoop's outputs

BetHoop produces statistical estimates based on historical data and current context. Estimates are not guarantees. No model can predict the outcome of a single basketball game with certainty. Treat our analyses as one input among many, not as a sure thing.
